Jean-Marc Lanthier serves as Chief Executive Officer and President of ADGA Group, where he oversees the company’s strategy, operations, and business performance. He provides leadership across all areas of the business, guiding teams to deliver integrated solutions indefence, security, and technology.
A retired Lieutenant-General with more than 30 years of service in the Canadian Armed Forces, Jean-Marc culminated his military career as Vice Chief of the Defence Staff, following his command of the Canadian Army. His extensive operational background includes six international deployments and two domestic operations, with leadership roles in Bosnia, Afghanistan, and Haiti.
Jean-Marc brings deep expertise in strategic planning, corporate governance, program implementation, and performance management. He has held governance roles on multiple boards and audit committees, including the Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services and Commissionaires Ottawa Security and Consulting Group. He is widely recognized for building high-performing teams, strengthening organizational culture, and delivering mission-critical outcomes in complex environments.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Ottawa and a Master of Science in Applied Sciences (Defence Technology) from Cranfield University in the UK. He is also a graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School’s Senior Executives in National andInternational Security Program, the US Naval Post graduate School’s Senior International Defence Management Course, and holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
Outside of ADGA, Jean-Marc has contributed his expertise as a Strategic Advisor to the Chronic Pain Centre of Excellence for Canadian Veterans and the Dallaire Institute for Children, Peace and Security. He is also a passionate advocate for veteran employment and wellness, reflecting his ongoing commitment to service and community.
