This role will provide general project management support and services for its respective projects, ensuring interaction and coordination of other interfacing projects, while supporting staff from various military, public service and contractor teams.

This role will assist in business planning activities, review and contribute to all PM documentation activities, provide advice on: time, scope and budget for ongoing activities, assist and contribute to the compilation of project contracting and procurement files, participate in and coordinate project related meetings, and liaise and coordinate with other projects.

This role will assist in the development of documentation required to advance the following the following modernization projects through the DND project approval process:

  • TCM – TAC Com Modernization
  • LISRM - Land ISR Modernization
  • CFLEWM CF – Land EW Modernization
  • TacC2ISM - TacC2IS Modernization

This role will work out of both offices in the Ottawa and Gatineau area, with majority of onsite requirements being in Gatineau. There is anticipated both international/long distance and domestic travel assignments associated with this position.

Qualifications

  • Graduated from College or University in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering Technology, Information Technology or suitable engineering or technical field
  • Having a PMP is an asset
  • Must have 5+ years of experience working as a project manager for projects in excess of $1M per year expenditure
  • Experience working in IT, military command control systems (preferred) 
  • Must have 5+ years of experience preparing and presenting technical and management documents.
  • Must have 5+ years of experience in stakeholder and communications management in a project context
  • Must have 5+ years of experience in project financial management, scope management, schedule management and risk management for projects in excess of $1M per year expenditure.
  • Must have 5+ years of experience drafting correspondence and making recommendations on the acceptance or rejection of deliverables.
  • Must have 5+ years of preparing Contract Deliverable Requirements Lists (CDRLs) and Data Item Descriptions (DIDs)
  • Having a PMP is an asset
  • Experience with DND project approval process is an asset
  • Experience in the militaries Land Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance is an asset

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a government secret security clearance
