Job Description

ADGA requires the services of a Senior Business Architect who already has or is eligible for, a Secret (level II) clearance to provide professional services in support of our defence client's Information Capabilities Strategic Assessments. You will primarily work remotely but you will need to work on-site and at a location within the NCR when required by the client

 

Our client's mission is to mature the rigour of Force Development in the Information Capabilities portfolio. The main objective will be to build a roadmap of all Information Capabilities over a multi-year horizon by adopting the “Conceive, Design, Build and Manage” methodology. Our client is mandated to conduct an analysis and build an Information Capabilities (IC) roadmap of all identified Information Capabilities over a multi-year horizon.

 

The services of a Senior Business Architect are required, specializing in capability gap analysis and elicitation of capability development needs, in order to inform the assessment and strategic planning of future information capabilities, including IC force development areas.

 

The Senior Business architect will perform tasks as designed by our client on an “as and when requested” basis. Tasks include but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop and evolve the Information Capability (IC) demand management framework;
  • Collect, analyze, and track all the Information Capability needs across multiple horizons;
  • Conduct and document gap analysis of the Information Capability development across multiple horizons utilizing Capability Maturity Models (e.g. OSIMM, MMEI, etc);
  • Engage multiple stakeholders for elicitation of capability needs/requirements. The resource must be able to execute and lead working sessions for brainstorming, develop and conduct surveys, conduct interviews, and perform document and data analysis;
  • Document the results of the capability assessment in reports and presentations for different Information Capabilities utilizing the MS Office 2013 Suite in the format directed by their DND supervisor; and
  • Monthly Progress/Status Report
  • Monthly progress reports of the work performed must be completed by the contractor in a format acceptable to the TA / DND rep. At a minimum, each monthly progress report must document, but is not limited to, the following information:
    • All significant activities performed by the contractor during the period covered by the monthly invoice;
    • Status of all action/decision items as well as a list of outstanding activities;
    • A description of any problems encountered which are likely to require attention by DND;
    • Any recommendations relating to the conduct of the work;
    • Total number of days charged for the contractor;
    • Total number of out-of-core hours used by the contractor, if applicable; and
    • A cumulative number of hours charged to the contractor.

Qualifications

We are looking for a Senior Business Architect who meets the following criteria:

  • A College Diploma or University Degree from a recognized institution in the sciences, engineering or in information management.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years’ experience, within the last ten (10) years, working on the identification of various business architecture components and business strategies.
  • A minimum of five (5) years combined experience, within the last fifteen (15) years, in each of the following: identifying, analyzing and validating services and service processes to facilitate business transformation initiatives. Experience must include the following:
    • Developing models;
    • Facilitating meetings or workshops to gather, analyze, and validate findings; and
    • Communicating findings to stakeholders and project management.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience, within the last ten (10) years, supporting business improvements or information technology initiatives. Experience must include the following:
    • Reviewing and analyzing the development and integration of business process and information models; and
    • Providing assistance and guidance in the development of business process improvement to eliminate information and process redundancies.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience, within the last five (5) years, developing business strategies on how organizational components fit together in support of the organization and business mandates.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience identifying, analyzing and validating services and service processes to facilitate business transformation initiatives. Experience must include:
    • Developing models;
    • Facilitating meetings or workshops to gather, analyze, and validate findings; and
    • Communicating findings to stakeholders and project management.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in providing advice to support business improvements or information technology initiatives. Experience must include:
    • Reviewing and analyzing the development and integration of business process and information models; and
    • Providing assistance and guidance in the development of business process improvement to eliminate information and process redundancies.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience within the last ten years, using proven business architecture methodologies such as Rational Unified Process (RUP) or The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF).
