Job Description

The LPICC Systems Software Specialist will be performing the following duties as required:

  • Investigate, identify, analyze & resolve platform/LCSS integration solutions with Army stakeholders.
    • Work within a team of peer Director Land Command Systems Program Management (DLCSPM) staff focused on the co-ordination of DLCSPM support to the DAVPM Light Armoured Vehicle (LAV) Programme;
    • Co-ordinate DLCSPM review, analysis, and provide recommendations on the DAVPM project integration of LCSS software, applications, hardware and interface and EMI documentation onto DAVPM LAV Platforms;
    • Co-ordinate the provision of DLCSPM recommended software-related system-level solutions for capability, deficiencies, and changes to equipment and specifications pertaining to DAVPM Projects;
    •  Liaise with DLCSPM software development and application technical groups to ensure system integrity, performance, reliability, integration, and maintainability when fielded onto DVAPM projects;
    • Co-ordinate the provisioning of DLCSPM software and application integration, analysis, and evaluation support pertaining to DAVPM projects;
    • Co-ordinate the preparation of DLCSPM planning and procurement support documentation for LCSS components to be fielded onto DAVPM projects;
    •  Co-ordinate the provision of DLCSPM review, analysis, and recommendations relating to software components and associated documentation to be fielded onto DAVPM projects;
    •  Co-ordinate DLCSPM support of DAVPM integrated LCSS software and EMI testing and evaluation;
  • Coordinate the conduct of Technical meetings with LCSS affected Army Platform Projects to facilitate their access to LCSS platform.
    • Co-ordinate DLCSPM SME/Chain of Command participation in Project/DLCSPM Meetings as appropriate;
    • Track and prepare DLCSPM leadership for DAVPM Programme Review and Governance meetings;
  • Support engineering and management analyses of LCSS platform integration issues related to departmental objectives.
    • Co-ordinate DLCSPM design, technical, and management reviews to monitor, advise, and report on progress and potential problems of fielding LCSS onto DAVPM LAV projects; and
    • Co-ordinate technical definition studies and options analysis;
  • Create and update the status of LPIWG. Maintain Situational Awareness within DLCSPM and through LPICCC Lead to DLCSPM COS.
    • Support LPICC lead in drafting and staffing SLAs as required;
    • Track and provide regular Situational Awareness to the Chain of Command;
    • Perform any other work related to DVAPM projects as directed.
  • Secondary Duties:
    • Perform any other work as directed by COS/D7.

Qualifications

  • A Degree or Diploma in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) in a network, software, computer, systems, electrical, or a suitable engineering or technical field.
  • A minimum of 72 months of demonstrated experience within the last 96 months in system engineering in a minimum of 4 of this assessment area's criteria:

    • Demonstrated work experience in planning, configuring, employing and managing command and control communication and information systems in a distributed platform environment or within a client/server environment;

    • Demonstrated work experience in identifying, analyzing and resolving complex communication and information system problems;

    • Demonstrated work experience in analyzing, designing and/or implementing solutions for communication and information systems;

    • Demonstrated work experience in developing and documenting system management solutions (tools and processes) for command and control communication and information systems in mobile platforms or within a client/server environment;

    • Demonstrated work experience in system integration, verification and validation, for hardware and software components (COTS and/or custom-developed) in new or existing systems.

  • A minimum of 60 months of demonstrated experience as a System Specialist on Military C4ISR systems.

  • A minimum of 72 months of demonstrated experience within the last 96 months in the preparation of technical concept documents, system specifications, and technical proposals in the field of Information Technology / Information management or engineering.

  • A minimum of 96 months of demonstrated experience in each of this assessment area's criteria:

    • Communicating information technology frameworks/strategies to management and technical staff.

    • Communicating system engineering direction for projects or systems.

    • Providing advice, guidance and recommendations on technical issues to support the decision-making of senior management.

    • Participating in multidisciplinary teams in the development of IT tactical systems, frameworks or strategies.

    • Performing strategic, operational or tactical planning for projects or systems to meet corporate strategy.
