As part of the Knowledge and Information Technology Services (KITS) organization, the National Research Council (NRC) has a need for a Project Manager to join the strategic Mercury Program Task Force 2 initiative to ensure the successful migration of Research Centre IT infrastructure into a secured network environment. As a complex knowledge-based organization, the NRC requires an information and technology environment that supports and enables the speedy evolution of its assets and innovations. The KITS Branch works in concert with our security partners to ensure effective solutions are in place to support a wide range of specialized research and science requirements as well as business development activities. As many projects at NRC have highly sensitive data and require implementation of controls to assure research, rapid resolution of barriers to migrating sensitive research into a secure environment is imperative in order to enable ongoing research innovation. Through research migration projects, barriers and gaps to migration have and continue to be identified. A technical team of subject matter experts is investigating migration issues and identifying solutions for application on an enterprise-level to form a new operational baseline for the benefit of future migration projects. This involves the definition of a new or re-definition of existing service level processes, implementation of non-existent governance models, or the implementation of new technical capabilities to support secure migration efforts. As a member of the Task Force 2 team, the Project Manager will lead research migration projects and/or technical projects to resolve barriers/gaps to migration in support of the program mandate.
Specific Deliverables and Milestones include:
Ten (10) years of experience within the last Fifteen (15) years performing Project Manager duties in an IT environment. Only experience claimed since April 1, 2006 will be accepted.
Must have an Active PWGSC Enhanced Reliability Clearance.
