Responsibilities: 
  • Lead the Business Enablement Digital Transformation Program through all of the phases of an IT Project

  • Oversee the Enterprise Technology Strategy and create a technology roadmap for the organization

  • Identify Business, Functional and Non-Functional requirements associated with the enterprise-wide digital transformation

  • Identify and define resourcing needs for the project team (including detailed cost estimates for ERP Systems [e.g. Finance, HR])

  • Coordinate between business and technical teams to understand and translate business needs into technology solutions to increase operational efficiency and effectiveness

  • Proactively identify risks and issues and ensure appropriate mitigation and contingency plans are in place and being completed

  • Identify opportunities for continuous process improvement within the organization

  • Oversee the installation and configuration of new systems for the organization

  • Prepare high level/detail design documents to assess and validate the solution

  • Review test strategies and test plans to ensure the functionality of a solution

  • Support training and solution implementation activities

  • Contribute to post-implementation reviews

  • Ensure best practices and industry leading tools are utilized

  • Lead successful projects by motivating team members, ensure compliance with processes and checklists, and drive project decision makers to resolve issues/make decisions in a timely manner

  • Ensure the project team is consistently and properly employing project management methodologies and updated technologies

  • Appropriately document the project with Project Charters, Project Management Plans, Project Schedules, Resources Plans, Budgets, etc.

  • Establish clear ownership for project tasks, ensure that team members have the tools needed, and provide timely feedback

  • Identify gaps in resourcing and initiate hiring conversations

  • Develop workable project plans including: scope, timeline, cost, resources, risk, communications and quality

  • Update and communicate process documents where required

  • Manage competing demands and prioritize work objectively; align with organizational objectives

  • Oversee IT department’s processes and make recommendations for improvement

  • Develop project strategic and internal communications

  • Communicate regularly with Governance committees on project status, issues and identify solutions to meet productivity, quality and client goals; escalate issues as required

  • Liaise with Department Directors to ensure operations are aligned to new business processes and new technologies

  • Work collaboratively across the organization to manage projects

Requirements: 
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years of Project Management experience in an IM/IT environment

  • University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent

  • Must have experience as a project manager responsible for the planning and implementation of most of the following technologies and/or solutions typically implemented in a professional services firm:

    • Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) systems

    • Recruiting

    • Collaboration (e.g. SharePoint)

    • Proposal Development

    • Purchasing, Contracting and Security

    • Customer Relationship Management in support of business development and sales

    • Marketing and Communications

    • Service Delivery

  • Ability to obtain a Government of Canada issued Security Clearance at the Secret level or higher

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification will be considered an asset

  • Extensive understanding and application of tools, principles, concepts, and techniques related to requirements, data, security, cloud, usability and process analysis

  • Capable self-starter who takes initiative and is able to learn new technology/tools

  • Task-focused with strong drive to complete high quality work on schedule

  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal

  • Highly self-motivated and driven

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Customer-focused, sensitive to customer needs, their critical business cycles and schedules

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and also effectively as part of a team

  • Highly effective interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills

  • An analytical thinker with problem-solving skills and expertise in project management

  • A born persuader who knows how to facilitate meetings effectively, objectively influence individuals across the organization, and manage multiple priorities using exceptional negotiation, collaboration and interpersonal skills

  • Knowledge of Government of Canada procurement, contracting, invoicing and financial management processes will be considered an asset
