On Thursday, March 12, members of the defence and security community gathered in Ottawa for the annual Women in Defence and Security (WiDS) Annual Awards Breakfast, an event dedicated to recognizing leadership and advancing the role of women across the sector.
We were proud to have a strong presence at the in-person event, reflecting a commitment to supporting initiatives that foster connection, visibility, and professional growth within the industry. The event brought together leaders from across government, industry, and academia, providing an opportunity to recognize achievements and strengthen relationships across the ecosystem.
In addition to attending in person, the virtual program was broadcast at our headquarters, enabling employees who were unable to attend to participate and engage.
As part of this year’s event, Anne Bruneau, Program Lead (LPS), was nominated by our executive leadership team as a WiDS Remarkable Leader.
"Anne’s nomination reflects her contributions to program delivery and her leadership within complex operational environments, as well as the example she sets for others across the organization."
The Remarkable Leader designation recognizes individuals at any stage of their career who are making a meaningful impact within the defence and security community while inspiring other women to pursue and grow their careers in the field. Anne’s nomination reflects her contributions to program delivery and her leadership within complex operational environments, as well as the example she sets for others across the organization.
The WiDS Breakfast continues to serve as an important forum for recognizing leadership and reinforcing the importance of inclusion across Canada’s defence and security sector. Participation in events like this reflects an ongoing commitment to supporting the people and initiatives that are helping to shape the future of the industry.
